What's New in SDL TRADOS 2006
From the release of SDL Trados 2006, the traditional Trados naming (version 6, 6.5, 7, etc) is replaced by the "SDL" naming, dictated by the year of release.
SDL Trados 2006 is a "combo" consisting of Trados 7.5 and SDLX 2006.
1 Complete XML open standards support.
Increased compatibility, no matter what the format, including XLIFF, DITA, and conditional XML.
2 Full support for Hindi and 20 other new languages.

3 Context TM translation of Microsoft Word documents.
Microsoft Word documents can now optionally be processed as XML-based TRADOStag documents.
4 Translation of Microsoft Word documents in TagEditor.
Microsoft Word documents can now be optionally translated in TagEditor as XML-based TRADOStag documents.
5 Support for latest version of TMX open translation memory standard.
Translator's Workbench fully supports the latest TMX standard, TMX 1.4b, as well as related standards such as Segmentation Rules Exchange (SRX).
6 Use of multiple termbases in active terminology recognition.
When used with TRADOS MultiTerm 7 Term Desktop, Translator's Workbench can now search multiple termbases and display recognized terms.
7 Productivity enhancements.
This release sees several enhancements that make users more productive. As an example, when a translator types the beginning of a frequently-used phrase or sentence, the new AutoText feature suggests the remainder of the text, so the user avoids having to retype phrases again and again.
